At Steor Learning Services, every learner’s journey begins with understanding. This profile helps build a clear picture of your learner so that support and teaching can be thoughtfully matched.

There are no right or wrong answers. Please include as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing. Most families take around 20 minutes, and you do not have to finish in one sitting — your answers are saved in this browser as you type, on your own device only.

Your profile will be reviewed within four working days of being received. Completing this form does not automatically guarantee your learner a place with Steor Learning Services.

2. Emotional and learning profile Tell me about the things that make your learner smile, and the things they enjoy. This can include hobbies, singers, social activities, TV programmes, video games, areas of science, things they collect and so on. What do they find challenging? Please include anything about social situations, areas of education, communication difficulties, or words and topics that can upset them. How does your learner present when they feel overwhelmed? For example verbal outbursts, physical outbursts, physically withdrawing by staying in their room or safe space, or verbally withdrawing by going quiet. What helps them when they feel overwhelmed? Please include the people, strategies, phrases, actions or objects that could help them. What strategies work well at home or school to support your learner with learning? This may include single step instructions, clear visuals in lessons, coloured overlays for their work, pauses in communication to help with processing, or working through examples together. Is there anything your learner is worried about if they were to start tutoring sessions? Anything else you would like me to know about your learner?

Does your learner have any medical conditions or allergies? Please also include any information about medication they take. Are there any other professionals involved with supporting your learner? Please also include any details relating to previous interventions or support.

5. Practical information

Tutoring sessions take place online using Microsoft Teams, so your learner will need access to the internet. A quiet learning space helps with focus. If your learner is under 18, a responsible adult will need to be in the home or learning area during sessions. All sessions are audio recorded for recap and revision purposes and stored digitally in line with the Steor Learning Services privacy policy.
